The CoMBaT Insomnia Study

The CoMBaT Insomnia Study is a multi-site study for insomnia and will involve current or former uniformed service members.

Purpose

The purpose of the CoMBaT Insomnia study is to test the effectiveness of two non-medication treatments for sleep problems in current or former uniformed service members who sustained a prior traumatic brain injury at least three months prior to enrollment. 

Process

This study includes a screening visit, a baseline visit, 6 treatment visits, and 3 post-treatment visits. All study visits are conducted virtually (a tele-visit) during participants' off-duty work hours.

     1. Complete Questionnaires/Clinical Interview

     2. Neurocognitive Assessment

     3. Assessment of Sleep Patterns

     4. Randomization into a treatment group

Treatment Visits 1-6

     1. Evidence-based Sleep Therapy

     2. Complete Questionnaires

     3. Complete Sleep Diary

Post-Treatment Visits

     1. Complete Questionnaires

     2. Neurocognitive Assessment

     3. Assessment of Sleep Patterns
